A grey metal comb with eleven metal prongs.

Historical information

The comb was used to comb the mane or tail of the horse either for show purposes or for general cleaning of the horse. It was important to keep the horse's mane and tail tangle free and free from grass seeds etc so as to prevent skin adhesions and diseases.
