Bullock yoke
A rectangular piece of timber which has a U-shaped metal rod at each end of the timber. The timber has been shaped to fit over the shoulders of the bullocks and the U-shaped metal rods are secured to the timber by a larger piece of metal on one side of the rod which stops the rod from being pulled out and a strap of leather is tied above the piece of metal. In the middle of the timber is a large metal ring which is connected to a metal hook which is nailed to the timber.
This is a bullock yoke, which would have been hitched to two bullocks. The U-shaped metal rods on each end of the piece of timber are quite large. The metal ring in the middle of the yoke would have been connected to a cart of other type of farm machinery. The U-shaped metal rods are 25.9cm wide by a height of 30.5 cm, the timber is 8 cm wide, by height of 12cm and length of 127.5 cm
