Historical information

This manicure set was handed down to Patricia Ten Haaf by her mother Teresa 'Trease' Glew (nee Cosgrove) who grew up in Armadale in the early 1900s. Teresa married Benjamin Glew in 1925 and a year later Patricia was born. Treace and Benjamin lived in Armadale for many years. Sometime in the 1960s or 70s they moved to Rivervale where Ben passed away (1973 age 73) and Como where Trease passed away (1979 age 79). The set was used and ownd by Teresa sometime between the late 1940s and 1979 when she passed away. It was passed onto Patricia either before or after Teresa's death.
