Towel Rail

Overview

A piece of orange painted wood decorated with black swans, swimming on a river with green reeds. The piece of wood has a black two pieces of painted black wood either side of the swans and a railing between. On the top edge of the wood in the centre is a circular metal hook.

Historical information

The item is a towel rail used to hold hand towels. It may have been made as a souvenir for the WA Centenary in 1929. The item is also decorated with poker work.

On the back of the item in the right hand corner is etched "'Centenary' Western Australia 1929" and on the left hand side is etched "A.E. Milhank".
