An article describing both the "Standard" and the"Special" Hotpoint toaster.
Hotpot Special Toaster
c. 1920A rectangular metal toaster which has four black baker lite handles at the bottom of each corner, and metal cut outs on the front, back and top.
One of the first types of electric toasters made for home use. The toaster is the "Special" toaster made by Hotpoint, whilst the box is for the "Standard". When the black handles are turned the side of the toaster drops down, allowing the bread to be put in or the toast removed.

On the opposite side of the toaster to the electrical cord plug is etched "Hotpoint". On the bottom of the toaster on a black metal plaque with silver etched lettering is "Hotpoint", underneath is "CAT NO 15032G", underneath is "VOLTS" and then etched in a silver plate is "250" then "N/IO WATTS" and then etched in a silver plate is "700", underneath in "MADE IN AUSTRALIA".
