Edwin William Russells Ward, son of Cyril Reginald Ward (1905-) and Margaret Stella Williams (1905-1989), was born in Perth, Western Australia on the 25 July 1929.

Lived at the police quarters at 66 Victoria Avenue, Claremont from January 1932 to April 1938.

  • 1862, the Freshwater Bay Mixed School was built on the property.
  • 1880s, became a boarding house for single men known as the 'Appy 'Ome.
  • 1883, bought by the Police Department to serve as the quarters for the second constable in charge of Freshwater Bay.
  • 1975, opened as the Claremont Museum.
