LUCAS FAMILY GROUP AT 49 GRAYLANDS ROAD
1924B/W Copy Print. Mary Lucas in dark dress with light collar, standing beside her mother, Mary Carter, in long dark outfit, sitting holding her grandson, Harry Lucas in dark romper suit and white bib. Group is on a wooden verandah in front of new weatherboards and white framed casement window.
Land purchased from Maria Hampton Gray by George Lucas. Weatherboard and iron house built in 1924 for George and Mary Lucas. Up to 9 goats kept at rear of property, which were allowed to forage in the bush. Original demolished in 1976 and replaced with brick and tile house for daughters, Win and Ethel, and "granny flat" for Mary. Sold in 1988 by Win and Ethel. Three dwellings currently (2000) on the large site.
