Historical information

This Perpetual Trophy for the Fairest & Best player of the Kelmscott Women's Hockey Club was named in honour of Verna Creyk. Verna played hockey for Australia and was a State diver and gymnast. Verna's mother, Marjory, was the first female Life Member of the Kelmscott Football Club, where her son was a player. All six Creyk daughters played hockey for the Kelmscott Hockey Club. Creyk Park, in Waltham Rd, Kelmscott is named in honour of this sporting family.

The trophy was first awarded in 1973, won by G. Chester, and was awarded each consecutive year until 1992.
