Overview

A small black and white photograph showing a group of over twenty (20) Turkish prisoners walking in the desert. There are at least four (4) mounted troopers visible in the image. The terrain is sand with a large dune covered with bushes at the front of the image. The photograph has a small border and is in good condition back and front. There is a small number 2 written on the reverse top corner.

Historical information

The 10th Light horse Regiment captured many Turkish troops throughout their campaigns including the Sinai campaign (Aug 1916), the Battle of Magdhaba (Dec 1916), capture of Jenin ( Sept 1918) and the capture of Damascus (Oct 1918).
