Historical information

Certificate of appreciation presented to volunteers who assisted with the clean up at the Challis Primary School following an arson attack on the weekend of 5-6 April 1986. Tony and his wife had children attending the school at the time.
Across 1986 and 1987 several local schools experienced arson attacks which caused considerable damage to all of the schools.

Statement of significance

Certificate of thanks from the Challis Primary School for volunteers who helped with the cleanup of a arson attack on the weekend of the 5-6 April 1986. The certificate was collected by Tony Crickmore, whose children were attending the school at the time. Tony and his wife volunteered to help with the cleanup. The newspaper cuttings and certificates represent the relationship between local schools and their immediate local community.
