Historical information

Presented to Armadale History House Museum in recognition of being the second Municipal Museum in Western Australia. The museum was opened in 1976 by the Armadale Kelmscott Historical Society. The Western Australian Museum provided the organisation assistance and for many years had a representative on the museum's management committee. The Western Australian Museum Act provided for the recognition of museum start were associated with local government authorities. In 1976 the Shire of Armadale Kelmscott supported the establishment of the museum through financial assistance and sitting on the museum management committee.
