Description
Reflects the history of the former tram service in Victoria Park.
Council negotiated with the Tram Society to convert an original tram to be used as a functional bus stop in 1999. Due to detrition, the original tram was decommissioned and a normal bus stop was temporarily located.
A Public Art commission for a bus shelter was advertised in 2010 to design a bus stop with art elements that reflect the old electric trams that Perth residents enjoyed in the past.
Artist statement: A bus shelter reflecting the history of tram transport in Victoria Park. This bus stop is situated at the terminus of the old number 10 tram which ran from Perth to Welshpool road in 1905 to 1951.
This artwork is a recommission of the original tram that was a bus stop on this location, and decommissioned in 2008.

Mehdi said “ The design has artistic features to it with the front end and the roof structure replicating the old tram. The front is carved from one piece of Donnybook stone and the seat is mounted on the old tram style suspension and track wheels.”
