CUTWORK, TRAYCLOTH
An elegant linen tray cloth with finely executed hand embroidery and lace.
Extensive attractive cutwork pattern is interspersed with little satin stitch circles.
Wide Bedfordshire bobbin lace edging is most unusual in that there are three different edgings. On the shorter sides is a band 55mm with radiating circles: on top side, a short band 20 mm with stars: the bottom band has similar short band and a wide triangular band. Surrounding all sides is another lace band with a scalloped edge.
Beautiful hand embroidered household linen was a feature of homes in the 18th and 19th centuries.
