Historical information

James Thomas Peet was born in Nottinghampshire, England. Moved to Queensland in 1886. When arrived in Perth, set up business in Perth in 1889. Appointed a Government Land Agent and Sworn Valuator operating from 158 William Street Perth in 1900. Married Mabel Urch in 1896. Had sons Percy, Cyril and Eric and daughters Doris and Violet. While he and his wife were on tour in 1911, he purchased a de Dion Bouton tourer car in England, after the coronation of King George V, and had it shipped to Fremantle, accompanied by driver, Mr Sawyer. Mr Peet did not drive.
