Peet Family
1898Studio portrait of extended Peet family. A group of four women, three men and three children are posed in front of a backdrop of sky, flowers, palms and pillars. The women are wearing outfits with fitted bodices, nipped in waists, sleeves full at the top and then fitting to the wrist and long skirts. The youngest, on the right, is in the latest 'walking out costume'. The men are wearing dark three piece suits, white shirts with wing collars and bow ties. The younger children are in the voluminous outfits of the time. The floor is covered with furs.
The 'Nan' in the photograph is Mabel Peet.
