B&W photo of The Newcastle Gaol during the period of a private residence, probably by the Dorizzi family (c.1929-1940s).
The photo has been taken of the Northern side of the building. It shows that the gaol had at this time a part-shingled, part-corrugated iron roof.
A vegetable garden is in the foreground and 2 trees behind the building.
The photograph has been reversed and to be seen correctly needs to be seen in mirror image.
