PHOTOGRAPH: MUNICIPAL GARDENS WITH ROTUNDA AND TWO CHILDREN
c. 1902Photograph of a black and white postcard showing part of the Subiaco Gardens with the Rotunda at right of the centre. A little girl standing on its steps and a boy standing on the path in front. Part of the Subiaco Bowling Club is just visible in the background.
The caption reads: 'Municipal Gardens, Subiaco, W.A.' and 'Published by the Austral Stores, Perth. W.A.'
Note: The Municipal Gardens - later named 'Rankin Gardens' - in about 1914. On Sundays, a band played in the Rotunda and, as one resident would recall, ' the people flocked to hear the music'. (Subiaco Historical Society).
