TOBACCO TIN - 'OLD GOLD'
Oblong tin with hinged lid, painted gold and yellow. 'Old Gold' painted in red and gold capitals on lid above a gold seal set at centre. Below that in black is printed the following: 'Ready Rubbed Tobacco. Manufactured by the British-Australasian Tobacco Co. Pty. Ltd. Sydney, Australia. For the Proprietor.' Along lid: '1 oz net when packed.' On lid is scratched in: 'Cash. War Loan Stamps' which clearly shows to which purpose the empty tin was kept.

A tobacco tin used by someone in the Chugg household. The Chuggs were early residents in Subiaco. Simon Chugg, father of Miss A.I. Chugg possibly rolled his own cigarettes, or smoked a pipe.
