The hotel's tower is cut off at the top of the photo. A horse and cart are in the left foreground and a man in a white suit is in the right foreground. Immediately above him is a draper's sign and just ahead, the store of A. Firth. A large sign down the street of a shop to the right advertises 'H. Morgan's Fruit and Vegetable Mart' as well as C. McPhee's groceries and crockery. The caption below reads: 'Subiaco W.A.' A note with the photo reads: Rokeby Road - Hay Street Corner c1910: The trams are running but the road is still unsealed. The Subiaco Hotel is open for business and there is a draper's shop on the right hand corner.' Trams commenced operating in Subiaco in 1900.
