PHOTOGRAPH: SUBIACO REFORMATORY LATER KING EDWARD MEMORIAL HOSPITAL
c. 1885Image: The photograph features the building of the newly built reformatory surrounded by a wooden fence and uncultivated land. The single level building is quite long and has an impressive entrance in the middle. The entrance has an arched doorway with cupolas on either side, and a steeple in the background. Trees can be seen behind the building. The windows are narrow and barred. Later this became known as the c1895 newly built Reformatory in Subiaco. Later known as State Children's Department and later still as King Edward's Maternity Hospital.
