PHOTOGRAPH: SCHOOL CHILDREN OF SUBIACO GOVERNMENT SCHOOL
The image features a large group of children grouped outside the entrance of the Subiaco State School. The words 'Government School' are carved in a scroll effect above the arched front entrance. Adults are standing at the sides and a tall gentleman stands to the right of the front door. It appears to be an occasion of some significance for there are flags draped between two poles fluttering in the foreground of the image. A banner has been hung above the entrance which reads 'Knowledge is Power'. A note with the photograph reads: 'Opening Day, Government School, Subiaco, 12th May 1897'.
