Second World War Australian Military Forces ‘Notice to Recruits’ to Sapper Kingsley Charles MOHR WX26433
1941A beige A3 paper typed document that has been folded providing typed instructions to K.C. MOHR, WX26433 to report to a ‘Camp of Continuous Training’ signed by the Area Officer.
The Second World War involved many countries during 1939-1945. Disputes from the aftermath of the First World War combined with the rise of the Axis powers (Germany, Italy and Japan) opposing the Allied Forces (Britain, countries of the Commonwealth including Australia, France, The United Staes, China and the Soviet Union). The war in Europe began with the German invasion of Poland in 1939. The war in Europe officially ended on 8 May 1945 after the surrender of the German forces on 4 May while the Japanese formal surrender ceremonies took place in September. Civilians not only fought in the war but were also impacted by air raids, disease, famine and the loss of ships.
