Second World War ‘Keep Your Chin Up’ Coloured Postcard sent to Sapper Kingsley Charles MOHR WX26433
c. 1943The front of the postcard has a pale blue background and small white stars with a caricature of a soldier keeping his ‘Chin Up’ framed inside a white border. On the back is a personal message to the receiver of the postcard is hand-written across both sections of the postcard. A small paper calendar (1944) with a light brown cover and back is fixed to the back of the postcard with brown tape. The maker’s name, “J.S. PTY.LTD”, is in the bottom left hand corner. There is no stamp or post mark.
Postcards were sent during the Second World War as a means of communication between families and loved ones at home and those serving in the war.
