Overview

The camera is a rectangular box, slightly longer than wide and/or tall. The front cover is detachable and has the lens assembly centrally located and two viewfinders, either side at the top.

The rear cover is hinged at the bottom and is fastened by a clip at the top. The case has an embossed carry strap fixed by two studs. There is a view finder top left and another on the right side to allow a wider image to be viewed. Below this is a shutter lock and near the bottom is the shutter release.

Mid point along the same side near the base is the film wind on knob.

Historical information

The Eastman Kodak Brownie Six 20 camera was used by members of the Philips family, who lived in the Byford area, in the mid 1900s to take family photographs.
