Two Girls With Pram And Dolls
Two girls wearing leather, lace-up shoes, dark stockings, slightly flared skirts, long-sleeved blouses with trimming and large collars. Both have dolls.
From the George Frederick Yeates Collection. Yeates was an Optometrist in Barrack Street. Town councillor. Keen photographer. Lived originally at 6 Langsford Street and then moved to 73 Shenton Road in 1912, under which later owner, Mrs R. Jones, found a collection of glass negatives which she donated to the museum. First wife was Elizabeth Fry May Crawshaw. Second wife was Kathleen Davidson (m.1929). Yeates named son 'Osbourne' after district now called Swanbourne (full name Frederick Charles Osbourne Yeates married to Madeline Sonia. Yeates) Daughters Keitha Barrett Yeates and Enid Crawshaw Yeates. A Methodist, George Frederick Yeates, attended services at the primary school in Devon Road and moved in 1911 to purchase the land on the corner of Watt and Walpole Streets where the Cottesloe Uniting Church chapel now stands. He was a Claremont Councillor from 1921-1936.
