This docket book was used at Mr. Harold Saw's butcher shop on Sixth Road in Armadale in the 1950s.
The Saw family arrived in the Armadale area in 1856 when they leased land along the Neerigen Brook and named it Narrogin. That same year Thomas Saw and his father-in-law Henry Gibbs built a small inn that became known as the Narrogin Inne, not long after the family purchased land in the area and made it their home. The descendants of Thomas have played a variety of roles in the local community, from establishing one of the first stores to holding a seat on the local council.
The docket book was printed in Perth by the Docket Company which had its head office in North Perth.
