1900 - 1960Cobolt blue glass bottle with long neck, seams down both sides, two lips at top, raised text on side. Chip at top lip of bottle and large chip on base. Letter M on base.
Blue bottle manufactured by F.H. Faulding & Co and was used at the Narrogin Inn. The bottle is believed to have contained caster oil which was often used to combat constipation and skin aliments. F.H Faulding & Co was an Australian pharmaceutical company started by Francis Hardy Faulding in Adelaide in 1867 with Luther Scammel. The company was known early on for its antiseptic made from eucalyptus oil. In 1890 the company expanded to Western Australia and continued to manufacture and distribute pharmaceutical drugs. By 1986 the company had a national coverage and continued to grow into one of Australians largest pharmaceutical warehousing and distributing companies.

Bottle that is thought to have contained castor oil and was used at the Ye Old Narrogin Inn. It was collected by Stan Gregory when he worked at the Inn in the 1960s. The oil was bottled in the Perth F.H. Faulding & Co factory in Perth.
The bottle represents common pharmaceutical remedies available to the community in the mid 1900s and that had been manufactured and bottled in Western Australia.
