GENERAL EMBROIDERY, MAT
A delightful Art Deco design on this ecru linen tray cloth and 4 serviettes, only on kept.
(a) Tray cloth design comprises in each corner, a spray of 6 flowers around a triangle. Sprays connected by a line of triangles. Edge of tray cloth stitched with black cotton thread which adds striking appearance.
The black thread had worn extensively, obviously from much use. Donor stitched around before donating.
Around this is a fine crochet edge with shell like shapes.
(b) Serviette has one spray of 4 flowers in corner around a small triangle. Edge is the same as for tray cloth, but not as many crochet shells around the edge.
Due to storage limitations, only 1 serviette was kept in Collection. 1 to Educ Folio & 2 to Heritage box
