Historical information

In 1994, the City of Armadale celebrated their centenary. Originally beginning back in 1894 as the Kelmscott Roads Board the first recorded minutes of the board were of a meeting on the 5th April 1894. In 1910 the board was renamed the Armadale - Kelmscott Roads Board and in 1961 it become the Shire of Armadale- Kelmscott after the WA local Government Act passed. In 1979, the Town of Armadale was proclaimed, with Armadale becoming a city in 1985.
