Overview

Rectangle cream coloured paper scroll. Each end of the scroll is wrapped around a wooden rod with turned decorated finial ends. The paper scroll is pinned to each rod with five thumb tacks. On the scroll is typed text in black ink. Title of the scroll is [THE ROTARY CLUB OF NEERIGEN BROOK ARMADALE]. The scroll contains the speech by Ron Sloan the Western Australian Rotarian governor in 1981/82 where he welcomes the newly charted Rotary Club of Neerigen Brook Armadale and announces the the inaugural committee. The committee members included Gavin Smyth, President, Willie Van Den Berg, secretary, John Lewis, Guenter Best, Victor Rossi, James Sparrow as committee members. The scroll also has a list of members and the businesses that they represent. At the bottom of the scroll is Ron Sloan's signature.

Historical information

In 1982 members of the Rotary Club of Armadale come together to form the Rotary Club of Neerigen Brook. The foundation president of the club was Gavin Smyth. When the club was formed it received its charter from the Western Australian Rotary International Governor Ron Sloan.
The club operated in the local community until 2012 when a fall in membership saw the club fold.
