BADGE - ROTARY INTERNATIONAL

Overview

The front is a darker blue in the shape of an oval with two little half circles going inwards halfway down the oval. The outskirts is golden.
The writing on the badge reads at the very top [ROTARY] with [INTERNATIONAL] at the very bottom. Between the writing in the middle is golden compass with 4 arrows facing N,E,S,W. The north and south arrows are larger than the east and west arrows.

The back is a golden colour with a straight point for the clasp, and below the clasp is the makers mask.

Historical information

Collected by a member of Armadale Neerigen Brook Rotary Club.
The Rotary Club of Neerigen which later changed its name to the Rotary Club of Armadale-Neerigen was founded in 1982. The club was involved in numerous fundrasing events and sponsored several exchange students as well as overseas programs. Members would regularly attend Rotatory events locally, nationally and internationally as well as visit other Rotary clubs around the world. The club folded due to a lack of members in 2012.

The organisation promotes peace and raises funds to fight disease, provide clean water, sanitation and hygiene, campaign against violence, supports education and promotes local economies.
