CONCERT TICKET - ARMADALE KELMSCOTT DISTRICT GLEE CLUB 1920

This ticket is from the first concert held by the recently formed Armadale Kelmscott District Glee Club. It was held on Saturday, 11th December 1920 at the Armadale Mechanics Institute building (also known as the Armadale Hall). Mr Norman Skewes was the Glee Club conductor and at times accompanied singers on the flute. His wife played the piano during the concerts. Miss Amy Richards is known to have sung a solo of 'The Reeds of the Shepherds' accompanied by Norman Skewes. Miss M Parker did a cello solo. Other songs sang at the concert include Maiden of the fleur de Leys', 'As Torrents in Summer', 'You Stole my Heart' and 'The Sun Shall be No More'. Money raised from the concert was donated to the Perth Children's hospital and the Armadale Memorial Park appeal.
