Historical information

Invitation sent to the Chairman, members and wives of the Armadale Kelmscott Road Board for the opening on the Kelmscott Infant Health Centre on 31/8/1940. This was the first infant health centre in the district and was located on Albany Highway, near the Kelmscott Railway Station.
The Infant Health Centres were part of a state government program to improve the health of infants and their parents as well as improve the parents understanding of infant health and care. The program was started in the mid 1920s and operated through to the mid 1980s.
