The Government House emblem is placed centrally at the top, with text below, that reads: [The Governor and Lady Barron / At Home / Tuesday, the 28th July, / To meet the Members of the British Association. / Government House, / 3.30p.m. / An answer is requested / addressed to the A.D.C.].
Invitation from Governor Major-General Sir Harry Barron and Lady Clara Barron at their home, WA Government House, to meet Members of the British Association. Sir Harry Barron replaced Sir Gerald Strickland at the start of autumn in 1913 and only governed for three years. Towards the end of WW1, he was embroiled in controversy when there was a call for the dissolving of Parliament. Lady Barron was an avid gardener and took a strong interest in the Government House gardens. They had one daughter.
