PENNANT - ROTARY CLUB OF EFFURUN

Overview

The pennant is rectangular with a triangular dip at the bottom, the top has a piece of wood with two pyramid style knobs at the end and golden cord on either end acting as a handle. The left and right of the pennant is two thick green stripes that run from the top left and right to bottom left and right.
Between the green stripes is a very thick white rectangle with [ROTARY CLUB] in black text written on the top with the rotary symbol below it a gold and blue water wheel with [ROTARY / INTERNATIONAL] written in golden text. Below the symbol in black text is written [OF / EFFURUN / (DISTRICT 9140) / NIGERIA].
Below the text is a black and white illustration of man in a singlet and shorts carrying a stick on his shoulder with two pieces of cord at each end connected to two bags of presumably red berries.
Behind the man in the back right is another man with a basket on his head with more red berries in it.
Along the bottom of the pennant is yellow tassel with golden bands on the bottom edge of the pennant.

Historical information

It was tradition for when Rotary Clubs met they exchanged their club banners. This banner was exchanged from the Rotary Club of Effurun in Nigeria. They were displayed by the Armadale Neerigen Rotary Club.
