OLD POLICE STABLES, TOODYAY RESTORED
c. 1977A black and white photo of the police stables in Clinton Street, Toodyay, over the road from the old gaol.
It is constructed of local stone, brickwork and there is a wooden slatted entrance to the immediate stables area.
Two rooms are either side of this area one with a door and window and the other to the right has a window and the doorway to this room is from within the stables.
Metal downpipes running from the corrugated iron roof are located to the corners of this building.
Stormy clouds are in the background.
The stables were built in 1891 and fell into disrepair in the mid 1900s.
Through the achieving of a National Estate grant in the 1970s the building was repaired and re-opened in 1977.
