Historical information

The Toodyay Cricket ground cricket practice nets were newly erected in the horse stall area in 1974. The ground shown in the photo is dry, cleared earth. Between 1976 and 1978 the local cricket club underwent a major modernization program, laying down two formal turf wickets and replacing these temporary-style facilities. Combined with the mid-1970s style of the boys' short-shorts and the teacher's attire, the ground's appearance aligns with a date estimation of c1975, the brief window after the nets were first set up.
