Fruit packing case from Llanelly Orchard in Roleystone. Archie Howard Brockway and his wife Maude moved to Roleystone in c1931, not long after they were married in 1928. Archie is listed as an orchardist in Roleystone through to 1980 before he and Maude retired to Claremont.. It is thought the orchard was passed onto one of their children who may be the other name on the box.
In World War II Archie enlisted in 1942 and served with the 5th Australian Garrison Battalion, the 113th Australian Mobile Bath unit and the 10th Australian Anti Malaria Control Unit. He was discharged in 1945. during this time Maude ran the orchard.
