(Dame) Dorothy Margaret Tangney (1907-1985) and Philip Julia Tangey (1902-1975) were daughters of Eugene Tangney (c.1877-1961) and Ellen Augustine Shanahan (c.1875-1946).

Ellen married William Pugh Lucille Smith.
