Historical information

Phyllis married William Pugh Lucille Smith (1894-1952) on Easter Monday 1944 at the St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Claremont.

According to newspapers of the time, this was the first occasion that the entire Tangney Family had been together in four years. Senator Tangney, wore a delphinium blue frock with navy accessories and Phyllis wore dusty pink with black accessories.

Phyllis Julia Tangney (1902-1975) and Dorothy Margaret Tangney (1907-1985) daughters of Eugene Hughie Tangney (1877-1961) and Ellen Augustine Shanahan (1875-1946).
