Sarah Olive Shaw (1911-1996), daughter of William Shaw and Edith Jane Shaw (nee Marsh), was born at 16 Stirling Road, Claremont, the home of her Uncle Ted (Edward Shaw).
Sarah (known as Olive) had three brothers:
William Alfred Shaw (1917-1988)
Arthur Edward Shaw (1919-1979)
George James Shaw (1922-1991)
The family lived firstly at 41 Claremont Crescent, then moved to 21 Stirling Road, Claremont in December 1917 into a house being built by her grandfather (Peter Shaw). The house never finished because of the hardships of World War I and then the depression.
Olive never married and lived in the family home at 21 Stirling Road until December 1984, when she moved to a retirement home in Nedlands.
