TOOL, SHUTTLE

Overview

A green plastic shuttle, a tool used for netting techniques of embroidery. One end of the shuttle is pointed the other rounded with an opening which allows thread to be wound around the shuttle.

Netting is created with stitches including weavers knot, to create concentric circles, squares or diamonds forming a mesh which can be then be embroidered known as filet /lacis.
