NEWGAIN FARM DIARY 1919
1919Diary recording activities associated with the property "Newgain", located on Dumbarton Road, Dumbarton in the Shire of Toodyay, Western Australia. Also including four documents found inserted into the diary pages. The diary was written by Frank Twine.
a) A small blue board covered diary for 1919. The cover was originally marked Woods ' Australian Diary for 1913 but has been covered over with a small sticky label marked 1919 and used in that year. The cover contains various advertisements.
There are 3 days per page and the pages are interleaved with blotting paper.
Most entries are made using pen and ink with some later in the year in pencil.
There are some days without an entry.
The entries mostly relate to the farm business with the occasional personal notation.
b) Elders Smith & Co Ltd wool way bills document showing some wool services and pictures on one side and on the other details of 27 bales of wool presumably delivered from Newgain.
c) A memorandum for guidance of taxpayers issued by the State Taxation Department
d) A cream coloured envelope adressed to Messrs. A & F Twine Toodyay from The Avon Butter and Bacon Co-operative Company Limited containing an invoice and receipt relating to the curing of a pig for them.
e) An interim receipt from the Western Australian Bank Toodyay for Twenty Pounds in payment for Commonwelth of Australia Peace Loan (1927) by A & F Twine.
