Urn Shaped Vase with Gardening Scenes
c. 1920An urn shaped vase. The handles are ornate with gold trim and there is a cream background tapering down to a speckled gold rim base.On the front is a picture of a man and a woman in their vegetable patch. The man has a shovel and the woman has an open basket. A waterfall is in the backgound. On the other side of the vase there are three pink roses and one cream rose.
The Staffordshire Potteries is the industrial area encompassing the six towns Burslem, Fenton, Hanley, Longton, Stoke and Tunstall, which is now the city of Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire, England. North Staffordshire became a centre of ceramic production in the early 17th century, due to the local availability of clay, salt, lead and coal.

Made in Midlands Potteries in England and known as a Tea Vase because every time the lady of the house bought a packet of tea, they were given a coupon. When she had collected a certain amount of coupons, she would claim her Tea Vase from the Tea Company. This was common practice from the late 1800s to 1930s.
