Alabaster Bread Plate
c. 1880Flat based alabaster bread platter with raised rim displaying two sheafs of wheat and an inscription moulded from the same material and reading ‘Give us this day our daily bread’. There is also a rim on the base of the platter. There are no markings on the back of the platter
This bread platter, originated from the 'Beachlands' homestead, built in 1860,in Sussex Land District, Western Australia and the home of William Richardson-Bunbury and his wife, Amelia Georgiana (nee Molloy) . It was donated by their granddaughter, Mrs Kathleen Elkington (nee Richardson-Bunbury). who was the great grand daughter of John and Georgiana Molloy and John and Charlotte Bussell, who were original settlers of Busselton. William Richardson-Bunbury had extensive land holdings in the Sussex area and Busselton townsite ( 1855-1877).

The platter has historical significance because of its connection to the "Beachlands" homestead and to the early settler families of Richardson - Bunbury, Molloy, Bussell and Elkington families association to the homestead.
