On the back of the photograph handwritten in blue ink is "Opening Methodist Manse", handwritten in pencil is "Richmond 17 Carew St Katanning" and at the bottom handwritten in pencil is "Officially opened on Wed 17th Feb 1909 by Rev. Wersley Maley Rev. Thomas James 1st resident minister Cost approx 4000 Built by F.L. Kleenman".
