The Claremont Shield

A dark wooden shield with a free standing wooden hinge with brass and wire attached for stability. In the centre of the shield from top to bottom is a scroll with the words "THE CLAREMONT SHIELD", three cricket wickets, a metal scroll and then two crossed cricket bats and between the bats is a ball. On either side of the metal scroll in the middle are three smaller metal shields.

Inscriptions and markings

The inscription on the middle metal shield is "Presented to KATANNING CRICKET ASSOCIATION By CLAREMONT TOURISTS for the furtherance of Cricket in the KATANNING DISTRICT Easter 1926".

The inscription on the top left smaller shield reads "Won by WOODANILLING Cricket Club 1925-1926". Going from left to right, the next shield reads "Won by WOODANILLING Cricket Club 1926-1927", then "Won by WOODANILLING Cricket Club 1927-1928", then a blank shield, then "Won by WOODANILLING Cricket Club 1929-1930" and finally ""Won by WOODANILLING Cricket Club 1928-1929"
