Overview

Brick house with 2 chimneys, iron roof and striped bullnose verandah supported on turned posts with fancy brackets, hanging baskets suspended from facia. Open central door with side glasses and a sash window either side. Open picket fence with central gateway. Fred Fletcher and an elder daughter on left, boy on rocking horse, girl with dolls' pram in centre and Mrs Fletcher with baby in arms on right. Small shrubs lining fence. Houses facing Hay Street (now Lakeway Street). To the left is Butler's Swamp and wooded slopes in background.

Historical information

52 Davies Road is now 74 Davies Road, Claremont. Mary Carter's rental house can be seen on the left hand side of photograph. This house was located on Hay Street, now known as Lakeway Street.
