First World War Black and White Photograph indicated to be of St Anne’s Church Jerusalem
1917 - 1919A small black and white photograph showing a building hidden behind a row of trees and bushes. There is a memorial that can be seen through the trees and other pieces of stone columns. The area is surrounded by a fence of three lengths of wire.
The reverse of the image has the proforma printing of part of a postcard and an inscription. The photograph has a small border and is in good condition.
Following the liberation of Jerusalem, soldiers on leave were able to visit the city and its sites. Many documented these visits through photographs
