Contextual information

An Excerpt from OUR BOYS IN PALESTINE - A LETTER FROM THE FRONT - Trooper A. E. Hill Published Sat 13th July Southern Argus and Wagin Arthur Express “We got to Jerusalem and rode through the modern portion of it and camped for the night just outside. Next morn we started again for Jericho. We did not go into the walled part of the old city, but” passed under its shadow. ……..; past the foot of the Mt. of Olives, on the top of which is the beautiful Kaiserin's Church. On the side of the Mount is the Garden of Gethsemane, now modern and fenced and in it the beautiful Russian Church with its five golden domes shining bright in the morning sunshine.”
