The reverse of the image has the proforma printing of part of a postcard and an inscription. The photograph has a small uneven border and is in good condition.

Historical information

The Tree of Mary (also known as the Tree of the Virgin Mary), is a sycamore tree located at al Matariyyah (the ancient city of Heliopolis) near Cairo, under which the Virgin Mary is believed to have sheltered during a journey through Egypt by the Holy Family (Jesus, Mary, and Joseph). It became a popular religious site visited by many people from all over the world throughout the ages.
